Craft Tabletop event at Dalton Community Group

The Dalton Community group have been trying to improve their capacity and their offer to the community. They already have several services attend the monthly session regularly such as local electorates Cllr Bennet-Sylvester and Cllr Baker-Rogers. The session is also regularly attended by RMBC housing.

Leverton Way TARA

I first spoke to Peter Keyworth from Leverton Way Tara in January/February 2020 when my areas changed and Dalton/Thrybergh became part of my new area. I arranged to meet Peter and his group at the Dorothy Taylor Centre where the groups meet on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, due to the Covid 19 I never got chance to do this.

I have however spoken to Peter a few times since the lockdown in March to make sure that himself and the other members of the group are doing okay, looking after themselves and to let him know that RotherFed are here to support in any way we can. Peter told me that they were all looking out for each other and helping one another where possible i.e. helping with prescriptions, shopping etc.

Silverwood Colliery Heritage Group

I have recently been supporting Silverwood Colliery Heritage Group with setting up a formalised group, I have given them advice, support and guidance on how to become a constituted group and setting up a bank account as well as securing public liability insurance for any activities or events that they may deliver.

The group have recently secured £250 from Wickersley ward funding which they hope to use to purchase resources such as display boards and pull up banners. The group are also looking to raise funds by selling t-shirts, keyrings, photo frames and Silverwood Colliery commemorative cups with pit workers numbers on them for ex-miners, family members and anyone else interested in supporting the group.
